Referring to my last comment on Youtube:I've saw that error actually is caused by a system setting in 'Regional and language options', 'Standards and formats' (in XP).For example I am Polish, so in my language the separator for frictions is a comma (the same situation is in French). In English language this role is taken by a dot, and that's why english people haven't got this error (or at least anyone hasn't reported it yet). By doing my edit, the game engine is reading this setting as 1, so those parabeetles are moving with the same speed as camera. Normally, with standard setting they should move faster (1.5 x speed of the camera I think). So the alternative solution for my edit in settings file is changing the language in 'Standards and formats' to English (or any other language, that has dots in frictions instead of commas). A little strange solution, but at least you get faster moving parabeetles. My english isn't perfect, but I think above text is understandable.

I'm still curious as to what thing controls the save files. It's not very obvious, and just knowing would be useful (instead of copypasting the entire SMBX folder to another computer, for example)Do you mean you want to know where are the files with savestates? If I'm right, then those files are save1.sav, save2.sav and save3.sav placed in each folder with worlds set. But if you have only one savestate, which is displayed as first in the savestates list in the game, then only save1.sav file is present.I remember raocow in his second LP with TGE wanted to know how to delete that one savestate, which was shipped with the game.

The answer is: delete the file save1.sav, and rename save2.sav to save1.sav (optionally). @morsel: No no no no, that is raocow not listening to audio cues again. The wall disappeared when he hit the block with the fireflower in it.During Lava Skys, the barabeetles are supposed to move 1.5 times the screen movement, so they would slowly fly ahead of you in the beggining. Fortunatley, changing that value did not break the level, only slightly I guess. You know this sucks your computer doen't read periods as they should. This will great effect your ability to play future episodes with custom enemies (like the parabeetle).Hey Rao, I recommend you beat Bowser before you find out what 7 stars do. Yeah, if it was supposed to be a reference to Mario Land, it could have been done better.

Just add another layer with an enemie and make that one appear when the event gets triggered and also use appropriate dialog in the event. Alright, I willl admit that was just me showing off here, sorry for that.To make this post less stupid: I must admit, I liked the lavafalls and the level Lava Skies seemed to be quite good. Though the part with the instant-falling donut blocks and the auto-scrolling screen seemed like a bad idea, though I guess it was well executed since it didn't cause any troubles. The airship part on the other hand wasn't quite good as it could be. Aside from the water reaching into one of the airships (That might have been intended though as a 'look, the hull has a hole and there is water on the ship' kind of thing) and the airships not really being in the air, the only other complaints I have are the part where you have to hit a question mark block which for some unexplained reason opens the path and that there isn't a checkpoint.

Bosses

But I guess the lack of a checkpoint wasn't a problem there so nevermind that I guess.Still, it seemed to be some nice levels that got shown in this recent video.

The music was definitely overblown, and everytime I hear it it reminds me of what Bowser SHOULD have been on SMG/SMG2, a giant mass of stars with a black hole in his mouth, the mario uses all the stars as a POWER UP, and becomes a giant celestial mario to fight him, hurling actual STARS as fireballs, while still producing the classic PLINK! Sound effect as he fires them.

Row Row, fight the Bowsah!ON tooic, I agree with raocow's analysis of the game, especially about some short, pointless levels. It seemed like they gave up 1/4 of the way through a lot of them and just said 'screw it, I`ll just end the level here'.

It's a shame because there were a lot of good ideas here. I was so sure that The Final End was going to be another boss. But there you go. Great Empire seems to be just filled with disappointment.

I mean, there are some levels where it had great potential and then it just didn't. Do anything with it?The fact that most of the game operated on a World 1/2 difficulty scale was pretty disappointing, too. And I'm genuinely curious to know why; is the author of this campaign/game/episode new to it, or was he worried that people wouldn't be able to complete it. Well, it was pretty good overall I'd say, just not well structured. But one thing I liked, was that it used the large screen area very well. Instead of falling victim to having a bunch of empty sky or too high of ground, a lot of environments were created that specifically had the screen's large surface area in mind. I gotta say, good on 'em for that!.thumbs up.Also on the upside, that final boss was one of the best platforming bosses I've seen.

The difficulty of timing was well balanced between the bombs' timing, and the fireballs' timing. You had to time the grabbing to when the bomb wasn't dangerous, and time your jumps between the fireballs, both depending mutually on each other for hitting the right moment to land and throw without getting killed. Very nicely done in that regard.Everyone else has already pretty much noted the goods and bads otherwise, most of which I agree with. Overall, it certainly wasn't bad, just. Not structured.

A good game that could have been way, way better, but also way, way worse. Just an update that I have been meaning to do for months. The Great Empire has a sequel! It sucks!Okay, it's not that bad, but all the levels are short, easy, and unimaginative. Cleary inferior to the first game. It is also not as pretty, i.e.: no underwater castles covered in algea (grumble, grumble). On a lighter side, I played the demo for Apocalypse of Foroze, and I am wholly impressed!

The game is set up similairly to SMG2; each level has 3 stars, collect any one of them to proceed to the next level. Levels may occasionally have a seperate secret exit as well. Story is simple, Mario Bros. Shipwreck, find Bowser has allied with a higher evil.Progress as of September 10. World 1: Southern Grasslands: 100% CompleteWorld 2: Grisly Isle: 86% CompleteWorld 3: Western Grasslands/Cave of Ordean: 100% CompleteWorld 4: Phendranan Isles: 100% CompleteWorld 5: Azure Forest: 11% CompleteWorld 6: The Lava Core: 48% CompleteSpecial World: 4% CompleteI highly recommend this when it's done. Very interesting ideas, challenging, and beautiful in places. Can be confusing as where to go at times becuase of a multi-path structure for the stars, but this is rare.Where can you get it?
