.The PSP Custom Firmware 6.61-Pro-C2 will work on all PSP models from the original PSP to the PSP Go and even the E1000, all you need is to be running the official 6.60 or 6.61 firmware to install and use this custom firmware.Note: On the Sony released PSP firmware 6.61, some three and a half years after the last 6.60 update. It's of no benefit to you updating to 6.61 after all this time, however the custom firmware has now been updated to support 6.61. So you can now follow this guide if you happen to have updated to 6.61.Why would i want to install Custom Firmware on my PSP?When custom firmware is on your PSP you can use emulators, homebrew applications and even backup your games to the memory stick. This allows you to easily carry around more than one game, and helps to save your PSP's battery as it does not need to power the UMD drive when playing games. You can also convert your old PS1 games and play them your PSP. All PS1 games are supported, not just games on the PSN. You can also add new features to your PSP via kernel mode background plugins, for example the ability to take screenshots in games.Something to note is that you can only permanently install this firmware on a PSP 1000 or a PSP 2000 that is not an 88 v3 version.
However its very easy to re load the custom firmware on a 88V3 PSP 2000, PSP 3000, PSP Go or E1000. I will cover finding out your PSP version later in this guide, all you need to know for now is that if you own a PSP you can follow this guide and get homebrew applications running on your PSP.If the firmware is permanently installed it means your PSP will boot directly in to the custom firmware when powered on, if not it means you will have to enable it again by launching a simple app. This however only needs doing from a cold boot, if you leave the PSP in standby like most people do (you probably do this without realising) then you will not need to enable it.1. Updating your PSP to 6.60 (Skip this if you are on 6.61)To begin and update your PSP.To update the PSP simply extract the PSP folder from the 6.60 update RAR file and move it to your PSP's memory stick. As you can see below the PSPGAMEUPDATE folder contains the EBOOT.PBP update. Now on your PSP go to Game Memory stick then launch the 6.60 update, follow the instructions to install the update:2.
A very useful thing you can do is rip all your UMD's to CSO's (Compressed ISO's), I did a tutorial for that a few years ago:I mainly used emulators on my PSP, a list of things currently on my PSP:PicoDrive - Sega Megadrive EmulatorDaedalus - N64 EmulatorSnes9x Euphoria - Snes EmulatorGpsp - GameBoy Advanced EmulatorScummVM - Can play old adventure games such as Day of the TenticleQuake - port of the PC gameDuke Nukem 3D - Port of the PC gamePSP Radio - Stream shoutcast radio stations.Have fun. It's a tool written in JAVA that will simplify the installation of PSVita custom themes in your app.db file. With this application infact you can install a new custom theme in your PSVita app.db file automatically. All you need to do is to pass a app.db file and your custom theme info, the program automatically will write every record in the db by itself. In addition to string and integer params this program supports also SQL blobs, so you can give your theme even a title and an author.
In this way, in your PSVita Theme Settings page there will be really no difference between an official theme and your custom theme! V1.0:. Written in JAVA, so compatible with any OS that supports a JVM (Windows, Linux, Mac.). Removed the need to use any external program (like SQLite Browser) and to find and edit SQL tables/records manually: all you need to do is to pass an app.db and your theme info, the program will write records automatically in your DB file at the correct table.
Support for SQL blobs: this means that you can insert even a title and an author/provider for your custom theme that will appear in PSVita Theme Settings page. It appears that OpenBOR Engine has been ported to Jailbroken PS4's from developer @Znullptr.we seen last year when the engine was by, but now we see Znullptr whom has been supplying the scene with various PS4 Homebrew releases like the recent Mednafen (multi-system emulator), Sega Saturn, mGBA and other emulation now has released (via ) the latest PS4 brew in the form of this classic beat em up style game-engine that support many unique user created creations found around the net at places like.
Currently the highest firmware hackable on a PS4 is 5.05 ( also 5.07 FW found in select regions). Thanks to the efforts of znullptr we have been seeing some great brew finally coming to the PS4, Hopefully this trend does not stop and we see improvements to what has been released and/or some new things but we have a great toy to tinker with as this new engine is now available for the PS4.. Year after year, many Hackers and Developers around the Globe come together for a 'Meet&Greet' at the City of Leipzig, Germany, where they share and discuss their newest Achievements with Hacking and other Security Subjects leading the way. Since you are a trustfully reader of this Site, you shouldn't be suprised anymore that like for last year, we decided to give you the full coverage about this years Chaos Communication Congress again - stylized as '36C3 - RESOURCE EXHAUSTION' by it's.
Last years Congress ( ) was already an impressive one, which showed us many new Achievements, especially for both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita. Indeed, speaking about the PSVita, the stages at 35C3 led to various afterwards, which you are already familiar about and probably downloaded a thousand times.
This years Congress will also show us the newest Achievements in the Console Scene and since your own demand was already so high for the last year, we had a reason more to keep you informed for the full coverage of this years 36C3. So, the only thing you need to do like you did last year is to keep this Article bookmarked, since we keep this Article updated after each new presentation. So you won't miss anything!. The PlayStation Vita was a ' powerful' Handheld Console back when it was released by the end of 2011 - wow, already 8 years old btw. But claiming by Sony that it can bring you the same power and good Gaming Experience like a Home Console, soon many people found out that this isn't the case for all Games released. But luckily, thanks to the great Homebrew Community behind the PSVita, we already saw in the past many ' Overclocking Plugins', which can bring you the full potential to your PSVita, even more powerful than Sony would allowed. But sometimes, even those weren't perfect.
Either they slowed down your Games when in use, they crashed the whole System or it was just some simple things like that the whole Screen was 'crowded' with the Details of each of your setting everytime when you needed to change them. But the cool thing is, this Homebrew Community hears your complaints. So Developer Electry worked on that and introduced his very own Overclocking Plugin - it's 'yet another overclocking plugin' to quote him - by fixing all those problems mentioned before.
And the coolest thing is, it looks pretty damn good and it's very useful as well, if you ask me!. Code: email:send?attach=ur0:shell/db/app.db.now, make sure that this is a link rather than normal text.note: if you can't get this to work, try another email account (the one you're writing from).Step 2: once you open the email on your vita, click or touch the link to open up a new email with the app.db as an attachment. Write this one to an email linked to your computer.Step 3: open the email, grab the attachment and place it on your desktopStep 4: grab the theme you want and place that on your desktop as wellStep 5: create a folder on your ps vita with the name THEMES. This can be anywhere on the memory stick, 'cause the theme location will be inside the app.db. You can create folders either with vita ftp or psp filer btw.Step 6: place the theme folder within the THEMES folder on your vita.Step 7: open ps vita db theme installer, click on your app.db, and click on the theme's xml to get all the correction information.
For main folder path, write down the path to the theme's folder on your ps vita. Make sure you include the entire path as well.Step 8: send the app.db to your ps vita with the file being named #0 and the subject line reading. Click to expand.thanks. I might add that a gmail email might be the best to use, because my main email address, which isn't gmail, could create a link to dump my app.db but the link wasn't clickable on the vita. Gmail didn't have that issue.
Without a link that's clickable, u can't dump ur app.db/ I've noticed the same issue when transferring content to my vita to place on the memory card - my main email won't work correctly, but my gmail one does. Thus, I have a gmail account on my vita just for the vita to transfer or dump content.edit: I'd also like to point out that if u use default settings for the location of the theme the app will use my themes as the theme name overwriting the actual theme name. Don't use default for the main folder.
